You can’s stop the waves but you can learn to surf

Our Windsurf Center is located next to the Beach Village (300m) on the beach in front of the TUI Best Family Hotel Alex Beach. There are over 70 sails from POINT-7 and 50 Patrik boards for windsurfing at your disposal, which are completely exchanged every season, so you are always on the road with the latest equipment. In addition, we offer interested people, young and old, high quality training material to be able to teach them the fascination of windsurfing with the help of our VDWS trained staff. Our courses for the very young start from the age of 6. Neoprene, harnesses and other accessories are available in sufficient numbers and included in the rental price.

Of course we offer freshwater showers and toilets on the beach, a sitting area and chill-out area, the beach bar, sun loungers and shaded areas directly at the center, which are of course part of the comfort of a professional surf center.

The so-called “Meltemi” provides the right power in the sail. It is the prevailing wind on Rhodes, compressed between the island and the Turkish mainland and strengthened by a local thermal. In the morning, especially the beginners and intermediates get their money’s worth with less wind and wave, while the advanced and wave beginners really feel at home from noon on, when the wind picks up. The wind blows sideways (side-onshore) from a southwesterly direction in midsummer, creating a small wave in the shore area and a swell further out.

In the months of May and October, the spot offers you a very special highlight through the “Tramontana”. The fresh wind then blows with up to 8 Bft from Turkey over to us, whereby the waves on the sandbank can already become 2 m high. For beginners, the somewhat more difficult conditions are then no longer recommended.
